There continues to be a strong competition on the open lists of candidates among the Socialists in the Tirana district.
With very few boxes left to count and around 5,000 envelopes from the diaspora, the rankings continue to change in a showdown until the last vote.
The open list in the Tirana district, which entered 7 deputies in addition to the 12 guaranteed ones, is led by Blendi Gonxhja with over 21 thousand votes, followed by Erion Braçe with over 20 thousand and Ervin Hoxha and Fatmir Xhafaj.
The last three seats for the new parliament are the ones with the strongest competition, so Ornaldo Rakipi has left behind Xhemal Qefalina by a handful of votes so far, while the latter has more than Anila Denaj and Blerina Gjylameti, who, if the result is such, will be in parliament due to the gender quota.
Olta Xhaçka is also in the race, and she could take Gjylameti's seat if she surpasses him in the vote preferences of the capital's residents.
