The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama is visiting the former President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi in the Hague prison. The media write that at 11:30, the Albanian Prime Minister started his meeting with Thaçi, which is expected to last three hours.

The former president of Kosovo appeared this Tuesday in the next session of the Special Court in The Hague. History has shown that the International Court of Justice in The Hague has been visited by heads of government only for formal meetings.

We recall that the prison where the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) are being held is located outside The Hague, on the outskirts of Scheveningen. Haaglanden is a unique prison in the Netherlands, as it is the only one that has a care center for pre-detainees.

The purpose of Rama's visit was precisely "to learn more" about the indictments of the Special Prosecution against the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, and the former Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli.

On October 26, 2020, the indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi was confirmed in the Special Court in The Hague.
