Who serves the removal of the passenger fee in Rinas?

The government decided to abolish the air border crossing fee with the argument that it would affect ticket prices and increase traffic at Rinas airport, while also saving money to citizens in their pockets.

The tariff in force was 10 euros, which passengers paid at the time of purchase of the ticket. But, more than for passengers, the fare in question is another favoritization made to the company 'Castrati', which has the airport concession.

Why? Despite the fee being paid by citizens at the moment of purchase of the ticket, at the state crate it was poured by the concessionaire "Tirana International Airport" owned by Shefqet Kastrati's company.

With the removal of this tariff, the first to benefit is Castrati and then perhaps even citizens through the decrease in the price of tickets. The problem at Albania's only international airport over the years has not been tariffs rather than abuse of monopoly positions in setting and assigning the price of tickets.

If compared to the countries of the region the three tariffs that apply to airports the difference between Rinas and other airports is small, almost insignificant. As an example, Albania applies 4-euro security tariffs, 10-euro passenger tariffs and 10-euro air border crossing tariffs. In total, these tariffs are 24 euros that are added on top of the ticket price.

In Skopje, there is an 18-euro tariff, 21 euros in Belgrade, 18 euros in Sarajevo, 18.5 euros in Pristina, 16.7 euros in Podgorica, 16 euros in Dubrovnik and 14.6 euros in Lubjana. This means that with the decision to abolish the rinasi air border crossing fee, the airport will become the lowest-fare airport in the region at just 14 euros.

But why might this not be accompanied by significant reductions in the price of tickets for citizens? Because if the first tariffs are seen in this decision, the difference with Skopje and Belgrade airports is very small and do not justify the high ticket prices that have been applied in Rinas compared to these two airports for the same destinations.

Yes, it is true that there is a reduction in the price of tickets, but the discount has been made due to the addition of airline companies, the introduction of 'loe cost' lines and it came before the government waived the 10 euro fee per passenger.

However, Albanians still want to buy air travel tickets even more expensively than other citizens of the region's countries, although only the difference in the border crossing fee does not justify this difference in price.
