The Socialist Party has reacted for the first time regarding SPAK's request for the arrest of former minister Arben Ahmetaj.
It was MP Arben Pëllumbi who spoke after the meeting of the Council of Mandates, where the socialists and democrats accepted SPAK's request for Ahmatej.
Pellumbi chose not to make political statements, but focused during his speech on a description of the technicalities of this process. Pëllumbi said that it is now up to the parliament to decide on Ahmetaj's arrest, by voting on the report that will be presented to it in a special session on Monday at 17:00.
"It will go to the plenary session. She is the one who makes the decision. For arrest, house search and personal search. The council tried to make the process orderly and uncontested. The report must be prepared in this case as well. Today we had to hear the defense as well and we could not have a report without preparing it.
We have to submit the report to the Speaker of the Assembly, and on Monday at 17:00 we will have a special session. As long as we are convinced that the procedure is regular and there are no facts to prove that there is an excess of the requirements, of course we have our position not to act as anyone's lawyer", declared MP Pëllumbi.
