Prosecutors leave the meeting, Ahmetaj's lawyers: There is no convincing
Prosecutors of former minister Arben Ahmetaj, Henrik Ligori and Ardian Visha

SPAK prosecutors and former minister Arben Ahmetaj's lawyers left the meeting of the Mandates Council just a few moments ago.

The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani and the prosecutor Enkeleda Millonai have left the premises of the Presidency of the Assembly, avoiding communication with the media.

During the departure, it was Ahmetaj's two defense lawyers, Henrik Ligori and Ardian Visha, who in a statement to the media spoke against the arrest of their client.

Visha and Ligori have said that in the prosecutor's file there is no convincing evidence for the arrest of Ahmetaj, or even for the control of his apartment.

"We saw no reason why Ahmetaj's apartment had to be checked. We are against the arrest of a deputy. We were given 24 hours for a voluminous file with 300 pages. In the prosecution document, there was no evidence for Ahmetaj's arrest. There is no evidence that Ahmetaj is the owner of these properties, or of hiding the wealth. There is no payment from the owners of the incinerators, they are not certified", Ahmetaj's lawyers declared.

Therefore, the meeting of the Council of Mandates continues with the presence of deputies who are expected to decide when the SPAK relation will be voted on in parliament.
