Socialist MP resigns, here's who's taking her place in Parliament

Briseida Çakërri, from the multi-name list of the Socialist Party in the Vlora district, was sworn in today as a member of the Albanian Parliament.

She took a seat in Parliament after Socialist lawmaker Brunilda Mersini resigned from her mandate, as she is running in the race for mayor of Vlora, in the November 9 by-elections.

"The mandate of the MP from the multi-member list of the SP, Briseida Çakërri, is granted," said the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Klodiana Spahiu.

"I invite the new MP to take the oath," she added.
