"We will have another rereading of the history of Skanderbeg", Rama:
Edi Rama

A conversation was organized between researchers on the eve of the 555th anniversary of our national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu, where Prime Minister Edi Rama was also invited among the guests.

During his speech, Rama stated that it is inevitable that in the future we will have a rewriting and a rereading of history regarding Skenderbeu.

He indicated that in relation to the debate on the name of the Balkans, he also debated with the Europeans, adding that it is precisely the Turks who prefer this designation for Southeast Europe.

"Due to my duty, I am not advised to get involved in this vortex, but there is more than that, there is also the Western Balkans. I had a debate about this with European friends, trying to explain that we are Europe, as there is a Western Europe, an Eastern one, there is also a Southeast one.

If the Balkans is a term imposed by the stupidity or gross misunderstanding of a person who then put a stamp on a region, the Western Balkans is an elaboration to draw a line between this side of Turkey. Therefore, if you find yourself at a table where there are also Turks, you will see that there is a triangle. The Turkish side wants the Balkans. When Aureli was explaining the Balkans and the mountain, I was thinking that we have not done the open mountain (Open Balkan).

It is not bad to open the mountain. One thing I want to say to put a cap on it is that this conversation is so special and interesting that we can continue until tomorrow but you have a duty to read tomorrow. There is a point towards the end of the book when the author gives an explanation for a question related to history, that history is destined to be rewritten and read at different times and in different contexts, and surely one day we will have another rereading of the history of Skanderbeg.

But as long as we have at our disposal today what was written about, the book you have in your hand is a valuable help with a new perspective and a summary that we do not find in any of the previous authors, since the sources have also been added . says Rama.
