After President Bajram Begaj decreed the law on protected areas, the head of the Reestablishment parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, also reacted.
Bardhi says that the head of state lost the opportunity to serve the public interest.
According to him, in this case the "corrupt interest of Edi Rama's clients and not the interest of Albanian citizens" prevailed.
"Again today, the President of the Republic lost the opportunity to serve the public interest. His decree of the law that destroys the protected areas is another proof that the corrupt interest of Edi Rama's clients prevails for the Head of State in any case and not the interest of the Albanian citizens", says Bardhi.
Bardhi further underlined that "since his appointment, the President of the Republic has returned for reconsideration only one law, which was related to his personal interests. Meanwhile, a multitude of laws that affect the interests of citizens, that contradict the Constitution, laws with clientelistic or corrupt orders, have been approved by the President of the Republic with his head down, declaring himself as a branch of the executive and losing his constitutional role".
He added that Albania urgently needs to restore the balance between the powers and according to him, "the restoration of democratic mechanisms and the protection of democracy is more necessary than ever".
