The court session against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who is under investigation for passive corruption regarding the privatization of the former Partizani complex, is being held today. It is learned that the session for the former prime minister is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Yesterday's session for Berisha was interrupted, as his defense requested time to get acquainted with the acts.
As former Prime Minister Sali Berisha refused to appear at the GJKKO to be questioned, he was represented by two lawyers, Genci Gjokutaj and Sokol Mengjezin.
Berisha chose to hold a conference with journalists at the time set by GJKKO for questioning the former prime minister regarding the privatization of the former Partizani sports complex.
We recall that yesterday Gjokutaj said that at the moment when Berisha has not made a decision on the legal process against him, he is not part of the process, while he emphasized that he had called judge Irena Gjoka on his behalf.
"This is an irregular legal process. At the moment when Mr. Berisha has not made a decision, he is not part of the process. This procedural impasse must be resolved by the court. It should be decided by the body of the procedure, those who do it", he said.
