The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , held a virtual meeting today with the Albanian diaspora where he spoke, among other things, about several issues of the country's economy.

Berisha promised that if he is elected prime minister of Albania on May 11th he will abolish all road taxes. 

The leading democrat also added that the price of oil will also decrease.

"I guarantee you that you will not find road taxes, neither in Kalimash nor in any other area. Why I am against road taxes, just one explanation. Because Albanians today, dear friends, travel at the highest cost in Europe due to the price of oil and road taxes. They will be removed. They pay a tax, which will be greatly reduced, with which the roads should be maintained. But that tax is not used for maintenance, but for completely different purposes. Like the Arbri road, it will undoubtedly end and there will be no payment. We started it and we will finish it."
