For opposition leader Sali Berisha, this day is important for Albania with the development of the Democratic Party (DP) primaries.

In a brief statement to the media, he said that thanks to this political force, there is hope for freedom in this country.

"Important days for political pluralism in Albania and for freedom. The Democratic Party leads in its battle for the freedoms and rights of its members, the citizens of Albania. Turn your head and see what is happening in the other party, what kind of grip they are in during this period. This is an act of hope for Albanians, that freedom will never fade in this country."

Berisha kept the person he voted for "secret" this Saturday, but indicated that it was a difficult decision.

"Very difficult! Because there were so many competing candidacies that it was difficult to focus on the decision. I would have liked there to be several, but I followed the statute. I have it top secret!", said Berisha.
