The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has once again shared with the public other accusations against him, which he describes as "comical".
Through a Facebook post, Veliaj writes that prosecutor Olsi Dado accuses him of having met with two foreign agents, while they are architects with an international reputation.
"Phone after phone call and investigation after investigation, Ols Dado accuses me of having met two foreign agents, Jesus Hernandez and Marco Casamonti, in fact two architects with an international reputation, whom Nesti Kafka should have had the honor of shaking hands with. And according to my Kafka, I had met them for "sponsorship work", that his tactic is "grab crumbs and leave like a bakery". Yes, I have met both star architects, with great pleasure even - but, not to give you some undeserved favor to get some personal favor back, but to give you respect and to get a FREE contribution to Tirana", writes Veliaj.
He further emphasizes that he " refuses to accept that in this country you are working too hard ," alongside several photos of him from his work as mayor.
"Look, look at Luli," someone said cynically, "he didn't do any work and he didn't get anything." I reject this! I reject the mentality that if you work, you will be attacked, so don't work. I believe that Albania is driven forward by work and working people, not lazy, cowardly, jealous and greedy people. I believe this and I believe that the good, idealistic, honest majority of the country also believes this. To all working people, keep your heads up and hugs with love!", he concludes.
