The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said today that the SP is not a political party, but a criminal organization, which not only protects the corrupt Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku , by not lifting her immunity, but also keeps in its fold officials and MPs implicated in organized crime.
After meeting with the EPP fact-finding mission in Tirana, where he delivered a book with 1,500 findings from the DP, Berisha also gave a statement to the media in front of the blue headquarters.
He was asked about the meeting of the SP tomorrow, which brings together the parliamentary group, and whether the majority would make a decision not to vote on the lifting of Belinda Balluku's immunity, requested by SPAK. The opposition leader replied that:
"It (PS) is an Ottoman crime unit. That party has proven to the Albanians that it is the matrix of crime in Albania. It is not. That party has crime as its substance, soul, mind. Because it is that party that has brought about this situation, it is that tolerance, that complicity that they have in theft and all, and that party is nothing but a crime unit. There Sara Mile and Arkend Balla are flowers, as are the other ministers and officials implicated. Therefore, I think you can use the word party, but more than anything else the word criminal organization fits," Berisha said in his speech.
Asked about the events at the Namazgja mosque on February 20 during the DP protest, he held the Police responsible for the attack, the damage caused, and even the tear gas.
"Regarding the violence in the mosque, we have not allowed any protesters there, we have kept our distance at the Tabak Bridge. But these bandits revolted the believers who were praying, they provoked by attacking. Did you see that they threw gas and smoke bombs at the DP, that is our street, that is our door, that is where we will enter. I guarantee the citizens that the DP will not hold any protests in the territory of the mosque. But I warn the criminal organization that, supposedly claiming to be the Parliament, they will attack the mosque. They have nothing in common with the mosque or the church or anything," he continued.
Berisha also gave a statement on the opposition's strategy for the next national protest, on Saturday, February 28th.
"We will explore new forms, all forms of protest are under consideration, but we only have protest. The options are all there," he said.
