DP MP Gazment Bardhi reported to SPAK Prime Minister Edi Rama after the arrest of former senior FBI official, Charles McGonigal, who, among other things, is accused of having received hundreds of thousands of euros from a security employee in Albania in in 2017.

In a post on social networks, Bardhi mentioned Prime Minister Rama's statement some time ago, as he said that Charles McGonigal was his personal friend.

The democratic deputy has informed that today he addressed SPAK for the initiation of investigations for what he called a criminal organization led by Prime Minister Rama. According to Bardhi, Prime Minister Edi Rama has committed 4 criminal offences.

Edi Rama's personal friend, Charles McGonigal, was arrested in the US after being accused of collaborating with the Russians, making false statements and money laundering. American justice confirms that Edi Rama, through a former State Security employee, paid his friend McGonigal a full 225,000 dollars to fabricate the tale of lobbying with Russian money for DP in the USA.

The corruption of an American FBI official to fabricate false circumstances for political opponents is not only a crime, but the most serious act that has occurred in these 30 years in Albania-USA relations. No Prime Minister in a democratic country uses dirty money to bribe US officials connected to Russia to crack down on political opponents.
Today, I have officially addressed SPAK to start investigations for a criminal organization, led by the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, for the commission of several criminal offenses, including:
1. Active corruption of foreign public officials;
2. False declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants;
3. Cleaning the products of the criminal offense or criminal activity;
4. Structured criminal group and the commission of the criminal offense by the structured criminal group.
SPAK does not have much work to solve this criminal affair. It is enough to formally request a complete file and evidence at the US District Court of the District of Columbia. Justice that is silent in the face of facts is dead justice. Albanians demand and deserve a justice that acts against everyone and that puts an end to the culture of impunity.
