Agron Shehaj announces the creation of a new political force, explains why he left PD

Invited to the Voice of America studio in Washington, MP Agron Shehaj declared for the first time that he is working to create a political party.

Separated from the Democratic Party, Shehaj told the Voice of America that he found it impossible for the DP to become a reliable alternative for Albanians.

"The reason (for breaking away from DP) is the fact that it could not continue in that way. I saw a lack of direction, a lack of will and a plan to renew the Democratic Party, to open up the Democratic Party, which is the only way we can become credible to the electorate and give a real alternative to the Albanians." , said Agron Shehaj.

Asked by the Voice of America journalist if this alternative will be a new political force, Shehaj affirmed.

"What I did not have the opportunity to contribute within the DP is what I am working to do outside the DP. I am working on a political project. I'm talking to people, it's certainly not an easy thing. Politics requires perseverance, sacrifice. Especially when you are not willing to compromise.

I think that the dream of every Albanian is to be governed by a non-corrupt government, to have a non-corrupt prime minister", said Agron Shehaj.
