Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has begun a tour of meetings that he says aims to revive, strengthen and renew the party. Salianji began his speech this Wednesday from the city of Durrës.

But before the meeting, the local structures of the Democratic Party distributed a warning message to its members, asking them not to attend.

In the message that circulated yesterday and today, and which was sent to the Democrats by the heads of branches 1 and 2, Ard Muka and Osman Stafa, it is emphasized that "unauthorized persons have distributed a notice for a meeting with the structures", describing this as "complete and utter disinformation".

The message emphasizes that the DP is currently engaged in the battle against the government's corrupt affairs and in the internal analysis process, distancing itself from the meetings called by Salianji: "Therefore, we, as members of the DP, distance ourselves from these so-called meetings announced for tomorrow, December 3."

However, despite this message addressed to Democratic members, dozens of DP members attended the Salijanj meeting in Durrës.

Salianji declared from Durrës that the DP must lead the change that Albanians expect, acknowledging that in addition to the lack of fair elections with the current government, the opposition has also failed due to its incompetence.

"The DP must open up, renew itself, believe in the new generation and combine experience with freshness," said Salianji, adding that not listening to the Democrats is "a serious mistake" that hinders the party's growth.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has begun the tour of the podiums alongside the "parliament" that it holds every week in front of the prime minister's office.
