During this week, as part of intensified controls to increase road safety, 8 citizens were criminally prosecuted for various violations of the provisions of the Road Code.

Of these, 2 citizens were arrested for driving while intoxicated, while 5 other citizens were prosecuted for driving without a driver's license, specifically 1 arrested and 4 prosecuted at large.

Also, 1 citizen was criminally prosecuted for violating traffic rules, resulting in the accident.

Announcement:

Within the framework of preventive controls, organized with control groups on urban, interurban and local roads, during this period a total of:

* 909 administrative measures for speeding, on interurban roads and on the A2 highway;

* 41 administrative measures for not using seat belts;

* 3 administrative measures for using a mobile phone while driving;

* 50 administrative measures for wrongful overtaking;

* 7 administrative measures for driving under the influence of alcohol;

* 119 administrative measures for other violations of road traffic rules, which constitute a potential source of accidents.

Checks continue on vehicles that transport students, with the aim of guaranteeing their safety during movement.

The Fier Traffic Police once again appeals for the rigorous observance of road traffic rules, as an important contribution to increasing road safety, protecting the lives and health of all road users, as well as guaranteeing safe, free and obstacle-free traffic.
