The high temperatures that have engulfed our country pose an increased risk, especially for the elderly, children and people with chronic diseases.
For this reason, expert doctors from the Institute of Public Health appeal to citizens to avoid rush hours, consume as much water as possible, and avoid alcoholic beverages, coffee, and carbonated drinks.
" During the summer, high temperatures are not only a concern for us, they also affect our health. Some groups in the population are more sensitive than the rest to these temperatures, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, the chronically ill, or people who work in open environments."
We advise limiting going out during peak hours 11:00-18:00, staying in cool places, keeping your body cool, wearing light clothes and light colors. When you go out, carry a hat, sunglasses and water with you. Water consumption is important to avoid dehydration. Avoid coffee, alcoholic and carbonated drinks. Eat as lightly as possible and consume as much fruit as possible. With a little care and some protective measures, we can protect our health , "says the IHP doctor.
