
A gunman has been shot at pop star Rihanna's Beverly Hills home.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired around 1:15 p.m. local time on Sunday. Police have identified a suspect, who was taken into custody by authorities.
According to American media, shell casings from an automatic weapon were found at the scene.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that the singer was inside the villa at the time of the shooting.
Police said the suspect, a woman in her 30s, pulled up outside the residence and fired seven shots into the property before speeding away. Her vehicle was found about 12 kilometers from the singer's home, where she was arrested. Her identity has not yet been released.
Rihanna, born in Barbados and known by her real name Robyn Fenty, is one of the most successful artists of the past two decades, with hits like “Umbrella” and “Pon de Replay.” She recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of her first album.
The 37-year-old artist also has several successful businesses, including the cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty. According to Forbes, her fortune is estimated at over a billion dollars. She and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, have three children together.
