A team of analysts in the United Kingdom after the data they collected in the time period 2001-2021, came to the conclusion that the most birthdays are in the month of September.

According to the report they published, the most common day of birth appears to be September 27, recording an average of 1,993 births per year. This is followed by September 24 and 25, with 1987 and 1980 births on average each year. The five most common birthdays are October 1 and September 23, with 1,979 births per year both.

Analysts believe that one reason that may explain the frequency of births in September is the desire of couples for their children to be the biggest in the class during their school years. Still others argue that these results are due to the fact that people have more sex during the Christmas holidays.

December 27 and 28 round out the trio of least common birthdays, recording 1,650 and 1,722 births per year respectively. Analysts believe this is because C-sections are usually not scheduled at that time, so only normal and emergency deliveries are performed.

April 1st is also low in births, with an average of 1,722 births per year. Researchers believe that those parents who have a choice, do not want their children to be born on a day that has been associated with jokes and lies. An extremely rare date of birth, as expected, is also February 29, a date that appears once every four years and is ranked 355th out of 366 days in the order of births.

The same analysis also reached some interesting conclusions about the profile of motherhood: According to the findings, the average age of women having children is increasing, as in modern times women seem to be postponing the creation of a family. In particular, the average age of motherhood is now 31, about 5 years higher than the average age of motherhood in the 1970s.
