One such trick is to ask a specific question: How did you meet?

Experts believe this means a lot to the couple.

If this question makes a couple smile and if they retell the event in a calm tone, the therapist believes there is room to improve the relationship. However, if meetings are talked about in a negative tone, marriage is in a more serious crisis.

The situation is critical if one of the partners uses words like "never" or "always", for example: "There was never understanding" or "She was always selfish". If you really think your partner never thinks about your needs, it would be good to ask yourself if it's worth staying married.

If, on the other hand, you think that the problem is only current and that everything can be solved, do not hesitate to go to a marriage counselor.
