Among the many demonstrations of support for Jakub Jankto is that of the footballer's ex-girlfriend, Markéta Ottomanská, with whom Jankto has a 3-year-old son. The ex-partner of the Czech national football player spoke to the Czech site "Idnes.cz", after Jankto came out, publicly admitted that he is gay:

"This is Kuby's story, his confession. I am proud that he was able to muster the strength to go public. He is the first active footballer to make this known. Perhaps only those who have ended their careers have accepted it. Everyone else keeps it a secret. They are afraid of what people say."

The relationship between the two ended in 2021 and the woman did not want to give details. "When he told me, he also gave me a lot of freedom," are the words of Markéta Ottomanská. - Now the important thing is that he is calm and happy. He will surely be relieved and nothing will break his spirit anymore.

Jakub was afraid that people would not accept him for who he was. He was stressed about it. I think people will like it as much as before. I don't care about our past anymore. I don't blame him for how it ended between us, I hope that now he is calmer and at peace with himself."

Even Neymar, through social networks, wanted to leave a message of support for Jankto: "It is an important day. Everyone should be free to live as they want."

Yesterday, Jankto admitted his sexual orientation: "I want to live my life freely. Fearless. Without prejudice. Without violence. But with love. I'm gay and I don't want to hide anymore." He accompanied the message with a video posted on his social profiles.

Jakub Jankto, the 27-year-old midfielder of Sparta Prague and the national team of the Czech Republic, has also played in Serie A with Udinese and Sampdoria. Jankto's story immediately received many comments of support, from FIFA ("We are all with you Jakub. Football is for everyone") to UEFA ("Well done Jakub. You are a real resource inspiration and European football is with you".

"Nothing changes for us. Live your life Jakub", - writes the Czech Football Federation, while Sparta Prague (which has loaned him from Getafe) revealed that "Jakub has openly talked about his sexual orientation with managers and teammates some time ago. Everything else is about his personal life: no comments and no questions. You have our support, live life Jakub. Nothing else matters."
