Jim Belushi is pleased with the April 5 premiere of the third season of Growing Belushi (an American television series featuring Jim Belushi and his cannabis farm in southern Oregon), on Discovery+. The network planned an earlier distribution in February, but then decided to wait until April. Season 2 ended with a fire at Belushi's farm in Medford.

"This time we did six episodes (instead of four). It was a 30% increase from Season 2. Discovery has only had four shows in its history do that. The first episode reveals what happened to the fire. Then we go on a trip. We are looking for a house. It's kind of an empty nester. I just got divorced and feel homeless. The main topic is 'What is home? What is family?' My cousin Chris (Karacosta) is part of it", Belushi confessed to "CelebStoner".

"The journey takes us from Oregon to Chicago, to Michigan, to New York, to Albania. We go to Illinois, play the "Infused & Blues" concert in Joliet prison with the Blues Brothers, open an ambulance in the Mohawk Nation and go to Albania for nine days", he continued.

Belushi's family history is Albanian

"Then I went to Lazarat. There were perfect growing conditions for cannabis there. There were about 700 people in that village who grew and cared for cannabis. They made a living with it. And they were closed. The government wants to legalize cannabis so they pay taxes. They want me to lead it in Albania. I think we can really help Albania to provide quality cannabis and oil. It's a great series. We shot it with great fun."

"I am known for this series all over the world. I used to be known for "According to Jim" or K-9, but now people are really loving the series. It's the whole realization very beautiful and creative, not only the script".

However, things are not going so well in Oregon. Belushi's business there has suffered due to a number of issues: the climate, declining tourism, high taxes and an overabundance of cannabis products.

In an interview for "Oregon Live", Belushi comments:

"There are too many people licensed to grow cannabis and more is being produced than can be sold. This hurts everyone," adding:

"It is not that much is being earned. This has to do with the fact that there are many competitors in the market and the low price".

Oregon Live also reports that Bill Maher and Arnold Schwarzenegger appear in season 3. Maher previously compared the series to Green Acres.
