The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in an interview for the British newspaper 'Sun', said that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, is using the same methods as his Russian ally, Vladimir Putin, to intimidate Kosovo.
Speaking to the British newspaper, Osmani said that she is worried by the tactics being used by Serbia and the Russian-linked president, Aleksandër Vucic. She compared the situation to when Russia first annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.
" Vucic is deeply connected to Putin ," she said, adding that she has previously accused Serbia of planning to seize territory from Kosovo just as Russia did in Crimea.
The British newspaper writes that Serbian paramilitary groups and war criminal mercenaries of the Russian "Wagner" group are located in the north of Kosovo.
Osmani compared them to the mercenaries that Putin sent to Ukraine before the annexation of Crimea.
" All this shows is the same plan ," she said. The President of Kosovo said that it is an illusion to believe that Vucic will break away from Russia.
"I believe it is time for Europe to stop seducing him, because the seduction of autocrats has never led to long-term peace," Osmani said.
