Hurricane Ian, which hit Florida with sustained winds of 255 km/h, is the fifth largest storm to hit the continental US.

The American media have informed their citizens step by step of the whole situation, while the Weather Channel was in Florida to report the event.

Journalist Jim Cantore was on the scene to document the storm, a task that is certainly not without its risks. Cantore was reporting live when he was hit by a tree branch, knocking him to the ground.

"This is one of the worst hurricanes I've ever been in. It may be the worst in terms of covering over 25 years and 90 storms," ​​he said, among other things.
