"I know who I am and what I have done"/ Trial in The Hague, Veseli:
Kadri Veseli

Former Kosovo Speaker of Parliament, Kadri Veseli, said that " justice can be delayed but it cannot be denied ."

" I know who I am, what I have done and what I have not done... My actions were legal ," he said in his closing statement at the court hearing in The Hague being held against him and other former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

"The court must at all costs protect truth, justice and impartiality. Even in the darkest moments, I did not lose faith that truth will triumph. Freedom cannot be achieved through injustice. My family and I have lived in constant persecution."

"I know what it means to live under constant threat, this is an experience I would not wish on anyone. After decades of investigations and documents, there is no evidence that I committed any crimes," Veseli added.

He said that he returned to Kosovo because he could not remain indifferent to the suffering his people were experiencing.
