Rexhep Selimi's wife, Shqipe Selimi, has said that she expects him and his friends to soon return innocent to Kosovo.
During visits to the detention center in Scheveningen, The Hague, she said "Rexha is holding strong and not giving up."
In an interview on the 18th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence (a day before the speeches that the former leaders will give today before the Special Court), she said that the Specialized Prosecution is prejudging the just fight for freedom and liberation.
"Tomorrow I expect the four leaders to exercise their right to speak. I am not sure whether they will speak or not, but I believe that they will exercise their right to each have a final say about this process. However, I believe that they cannot say everything if they speak, they cannot say what they really think about this court for the reason of their criminalization because this prosecution has not shown concrete examples that are on our side, on the contrary they are prejudiced, have prejudiced and continue to prejudice our right to liberation, freedom and independence," she said.
Then he added:
"We do not expect anything better from this prosecution, except that you have already seen it in public. That face has been there from the beginning, since they filed this indictment, they have claimed. We do not expect anything better from them, but we expect justice from competent judges. I expect them not to be influenced by the words of the prosecutors, because they have slandered, misinformed and based their actions on the files they received from Serbia. So far, they have not managed to reveal or prove their claims that they have had for years," said Selimi.
She also spoke about the last visit to the detention center and the words of Rexhep Selimi.
"We have monthly visits, periodic for three days, three hours each month, they are short, not normally enough to make us feel better, but normally it is enough that we have the right to at least visit them... Rexha is holding strong, he does not give up, he does not complain, I also believe very much in his and his friends' innocence and we expect that they will soon return free to our Kosovo", concluded Selimi./KosovaPress
