After destroying an important bridge in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian army claims to have destroyed another bridge.
Pro-Kremlin Russian military bloggers have admitted that the destruction of the first bridge, which spanned the Seim River near the town of Glushkovo, will hamper supplies to Russian forces.
The commander of Ukraine's Air Force said the second bridge in Russia's Kursk region has been destroyed, as Kiev seeks to weaken Russia's combat operations in the area.
"Minus one more bridge. The Air Force continues to deprive the enemy of logistics capabilities through precision airstrikes, which significantly affect offensive operations," said Mykola Oleschuk.
According to Russian security officials, the destruction of the first bridge over the Sejm River, which Russian authorities said was carried out by Western weapons, specifically US-made Himars missiles, cut off part of Glushkov district, making it more difficult for civilians to evacuate the region.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has once again called on the West to supply Kiev with longer-range weapons, following the advance of his troops in Russia's Kursk region.
"The ability of the armed forces of Ukraine to use such weapons against Russia is the most important strategic issue of this war," Zelensky said.
Zelensky again referred to a conversation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who briefed him on further progress in Russia's Kursk region.
According to the latest information from Kiev, Ukraine controls over 80 villages and 1,500 square kilometers of land in the Kursk region. Over 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers are stationed in the Kursk region.
Meanwhile, on the other front, Russia has launched its third ballistic missile against the Ukrainian capital this month. He added that Russian forces have also carried out missile attacks on Kiev.
The Ukrainian Air Force shot down eight drones and five missiles over the regions of Kyiv, Sumy and Poltava.
On the other hand, safety at the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is deteriorating, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency. A drone strike hit a perimeter access road used by staff near the power plant.
There were no casualties and no impact on any of the nuclear plant's equipment, but the road between the plant's two main gates was severely damaged.
