Horrifying details have been revealed from the tragedy in Kosovo, when three children, two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old, lost their lives after their house collapsed.
The village of Jabllanicë in Gjakova, where the incident took place, has been engulfed in grief. A villager has recounted the harrowing moments of their search under the rubble.
Përparim Ademaj said that he had been notified by phone about the disappearance of the children since 4:00 p.m. He confessed that he had joined the children's parents when they noticed the collapsed house.
"While talking to them, we saw a building that had collapsed. When we called them on the phone, we heard their phones vibrating between the tiles," he told media in Kosovo.
And there began the race against time, but it was in vain. The villagers joined the efforts to save the children, but they were pulled out of there with no signs of life.
"With a tractor, we pulled out three young men without any signs of life, removing them piece by piece," said the resident.
The media writes that the building in question that collapsed had functioned as a store and had been uninhabited for years. It is believed that the minors had gone there to play. However, the investigations are expected to reveal the full circumstances of the incident.
