The eyes of all Albanians are on Pristina today. The historic moment is approaching and the world dream is only a few hours away. Starting at 20:45, the "Dardans" will take to the field at the packed "Fadil Vokrri" for the "play off" final.
In Pristina, everyone is talking about the match, while thousands of Albanians from all over the world have traveled to the capital of Kosovo.
The atmosphere in the yellow-blue camp is very positive. A day ago, coach Foda said that the chances of going to America are equal to Turkey.
"The Turkish team is very strong also in terms of individual players like Yildiz, Guler and Calhanoglu, they are qualitative, but we are also good. We are in the final with full merit, the chances of advancing are 50 to 50. We will give everything to win," said Kosovo coach Franco Foda.
The coach is expected to trust a balanced lineup for the historic clash, identical to the one in the away victory in Slovakia.
Arijanet Muric is confirmed in goal, while the defense with three players - Lumbardh Dellova, Kreshnik Hajrizi and Albian Hajdari - aims for stability and discipline against a dangerous Turkish attack.
On the wings, Mërgim Vojvoda and Dion Gallapeni Hoxha are expected to have a dual role, both in defense and in the offensive phase. The midfield with Elvis Rexhbecaj, Veldin Hoxha and Florent Muslija offers energy and creativity, with the latter expected to add dynamics to the attacking department.
In attack, coach Foda trusts the duo Fisnik Asllani and Vedat Muriqi, with the latter as the team's main point of reference.
Before the historic match, Vedat Muriqi also spoke to the media, stating that if Kosovo qualifies for the World Cup, it will be the greatest joy for the people since the declaration of Independence in 2008. Meanwhile, Albin Kurti's government has approved a reward of 500 thousand euros after the elimination of Slovakia, while promising 1 million euros for the players if they go to the World Cup.
