The scandal that has shaken the party of anti-Albanian Nigel Farage

A hidden camera investigation rocks Reform UK ahead of Nigel Farage's annual party conference.

James Orr, the party's policy director, and Dan Jukes, one of Farage's closest aides, have resigned amid allegations that Reform UK received illicit foreign funding. At the heart of the case are three polls costing £32,500, which Channel 4 News reported were paid for by an American company. British law prohibits foreign companies from funding political parties, including through research or polling.

The people who posed as donors were actually undercover investigative journalists. In the released recordings, Orr is heard discussing how the funding could have been done without Farage's knowledge, while Jukes describes one of the projects as "off the record".

Farage himself appears at a meeting with fake donors congratulating them on the success of a poll, but Reform UK denies any wrongdoing and says it was the subject of a trap by activists posing as funders. The party has launched an internal investigation, while chairman Lee Anderson said the two officials are not expected to return to office. Labour and the Liberal Democrats have called for an investigation by the police and the Electoral Commission.

The scandal erupts just as Farage is trying to present Reform UK as a governing alternative and is expected to present the party's plan for its first 100 days in power in Birmingham.
