Albanian woman living in Dubai: It was unexpected, because we live in one of the

For more than a decade, Dubai has been chosen as a place where a significant Albanian community of around 1,500 people lives and works.

Sonila Sherifi is one of them, who has been living there for 11 years. Interviewed by Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu, she tells how the missile attack from Iran was experienced in the United Arab Emirates.

"It was really unexpected for all of us, because we live in one of the safest countries in the world, let's say. Since we have had the endless support of the government here and have been assured by them that everything will go well and the situation is under control, we have felt a kind of relief."

But of course there was concern because as parents, we are also mostly concerned about our children. But in reality, we have been calmer because step by step we have had updates from all official government sources that the situation is under the highest security control.

"These are not easy situations to deal with, especially when you live in such a safe place where practically nothing happens, but we are what we are. In general, we are calm," says Sonila Sherifi.

Solila Sherifi also shares the advice given by authorities in Dubai.

"Currently, we have been told to stay indoors as much as possible, whether it's at home or in enclosed spaces like shopping malls or wherever we are."

"We should avoid areas where there are already remnants of missiles that have been counterattacked by Dubai's air defenses and drones, which have prevented direct attacks. The debris has practically fallen in certain areas and is under the observation of the country's authorities," she said.

Dubai authorities on Sunday sent emergency notices to residents, urging them to "seek immediate shelter."

"Due to the current situation and a possible missile threat, seek immediate shelter in the nearest safe building and avoid windows, doors and open areas," the notification sent to mobile phones said.
