Children and pensioners will each receive an additional 100 euros at the end of this year, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said at the Government meeting. The government is expected to approve this decision today.
"I believe you remember the promise that every year each child will receive 50, 100 or 150 euros, depending on the parents' income. This year we have decided that all children without distinction will benefit from the scheme and the amount of the benefit will be 100 euros", said Kurti.
He said that they are planning "for this scheme to be further sophisticated, starting to implement the declaration of annual income by all beneficiary parentss”.
This, according to Kurt, "so that there is a difference in support" and that "those who I have less income, they benefit more".
"For all pensioners this year-end, in order to ease the cost of living for this vulnerable category, we will approve a one-time supplement of 100 euros, in addition to the regular monthly pension they receive," said Kurti.
The Ministry of Finance will announce the details about the execution of the additions.
