The Pantheon project was recently introduced in Croatia.
Within the framework of the Three Seas Initiative at the Dubrovnik Forum held this Tuesday, the project has taken center stage, given its $50 billion figure.
It consists of the construction of a 1GW data center in Topusko starting in 2029.
The Croatian partner in this initiative is the Koncar group and according to media reports, the consortium will build its own electrical substation along with 280 km of lines.
The other partner, Greenvolt, will build a 500 MW photovoltaic plant that it hopes will increase the country's energy supply and bring down prices.
Croatia thus aims to enter the Artificial Intelligence race with the largest investment in Eastern Europe.
For his part, American partner Ryan Rich of Pantheon AI has assessed that Croatia was chosen because it is a stable country with a well-qualified workforce.
