The defense attorney for former Kosovo president Hashim Thaçi criticized the Specialized Prosecution Office regarding the arguments presented before the trial panel.
According to her, the Prosecution has no evidence proving interference or any act of obstruction, for which Thaçi and others are accused.
"Honorable judges, the SPO has never been clear about the forms of criminal liability it claims. There have been limited details, either in the preliminary or final file. In fact, they didn't discuss it at all this morning."
As for the interference, they have no evidence. There was no act of obstruction. The SPO was then forced to find some inconsistencies regarding the forms of criminal liability, but it never delved into what interpretation is given in Kosovo law for the forms of criminal liability.
"She has not even explained what evidence she has for these accusations. In fact, the SPO has misinterpreted the forms of criminal liability and has not supported them with facts," said lawyer Sophie Menegon.
