Serious images/ Assassinations of the former president of Bolivia, he is shot

Former Bolivian President Evo Morales claimed on Sunday that he had escaped an early morning assassination attempt when unidentified gunmen opened fire on his vehicle.

Morales posted a video on social media that appeared to show bullet holes in his car as well as an injured driver.

He claimed that four masked men dressed in black and carrying guns got out of two vehicles and started shooting early in the morning.

He claimed the incident happened as he was leaving to host his regular Sunday programme.

The alleged attack comes amid escalating political tensions in Bolivia, where Morales, who led the country from 2006 to 2019, has rallied supporters after being barred from upcoming elections by a constitutional court ruling.

Bolivian authorities did not immediately comment on the incident.
