Vladimir Putin is willing to discuss a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine provided progress is made towards a final peace agreement.

This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources who said that a ceasefire agreement would require a clear understanding of the framework principles of the final peace agreement.

Russia will insist, Bloomberg adds, on establishing the parameters of a possible peacekeeping mission, including an agreement on which countries will participate.

Earlier today, US President Donald Trump stated that he is considering imposing large-scale sanctions and tariffs on Russia if it does not agree to a ceasefire.
