Israel's Armed Forces announced that it has reinforced the Red Sea region with Navy missiles, following several missile and drone attacks by Iran-backed Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The placement of ships in the Red Sea comes as a reaction to the organization's announcement in Yemen, as well as to the fact that rockets have been launched into Israeli territory in recent days.
On October 31, the Iron Dome system intercepted a missile and two drones that were launched from Yemen against Israel.
According to the Israeli Armed Forces, the ships were deployed on Tuesday "in accordance with the assessment of the situation and as part of increased defense efforts in the area".

The military says it has several layers of air defenses in the area to defend against Houthi attacks.
The US military is also deployed in the Red Sea region and intercepted a number of Houthi missiles and drones heading towards Israel two weeks ago.
