Former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have spoken publicly for the first time since their capture by US forces.
The couple, who have been held in a federal prison in Brooklyn for 3 months, stated in a post on X that they are well and at peace.
"We are well, steadfast, calm and in constant prayer," said a post shared by Maduro.
On January 3, Maduro was arrested by US forces in Caracas and flown to the United States on charges of drug trafficking and his alleged collaboration with drug traffickers and criminal groups in both Venezuela and Colombia.
