The northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna is bracing for more rain after severe flooding earlier this week.
"In some parts of the region on the Adriatic coast, the highest alert level is still in effect," the Italian Civil Defense said.
The rain is expected to continue during the weekend.
"At least 14 people have died as a result of the floods this week and about 15,000 people have been evacuated," ANSA announced.
Floods and landslides continue to plague the affected areas.
In some places, the water is slowly receding and hundreds of rescue workers and volunteers are now working to clear roads of mud.
The Italian fire brigade has been called to more than 3,000 operations involving around 1,000 firefighters since the start of the heavy storms, it was reported this morning.
The situation worsened on Friday, particularly around the city of Ravenna, where rivers burst their banks again and landslides are currently proving to be a major risk.
Some communities were struggling to maintain food and drinking water supplies.
Meanwhile, the Italian government under Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni plans to hold a cabinet meeting on Tuesday to decide on relief measures for the affected areas.
From Japan, where Meloni is participating in the G7 summit, she assured the region of her "fullest solidarity".
