Terrible Ian, Biden: Could be the deadliest hurricane in Florida history
Hurricane Ian

Hurricane "Ian" has left behind great destruction in Florida hit the day before, while it is getting ready to hit South Carolina as well.

US President Joe Biden said Ian could become the deadliest storm in Florida's history.

So far, there is still no confirmation on the number of people who have lost their lives, but the authorities fear that hundreds may have died.

With catastrophic power, Hurricane Ian made landfall in the state of Florida on Tuesday afternoon, bringing with it winds of up to 240 km per hour and dangerous floods that inundated communities. It slammed into the Sunshine State as a Category 4 storm, quickly turning the flat, low-level territory into a scene of destruction.

Ian's howling winds, which made it one of the strongest storms to hit the United States, eased significantly overnight. 8 hours after arrival, Ian was downgraded to a Category 1 storm, with winds of up to 150 km/h. And yet the slow-moving, sprawling hurricane continued to unleash violent rainfall that flooded roads, vehicles and homes.
