The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has confirmed the arrest of several people suspected of being responsible for the massive explosion that occurred yesterday evening in the Ibër-Lepence canal in the village of Varagë in Zubin Patoku.
As he headed towards the scene accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Xelal Sveçla, he informed that the police have launched a series of operations in different areas of the country with the aim of catching the perpetrators responsible for this criminal act as soon as possible.
" The police have carried out raids, there are also arrests, testimonies and material evidence and all these criminals and terrorists will face justice, with the power of the just law of the democratic and independent Republic of Kosovo, " said Albin Kurti.
Meanwhile, the head of government informs that all special structures are ready to repair the damage caused by the massive explosion as soon as possible, as well as to normally supply water and energy to the dependent areas from this canal.
" This terrorist and criminal attack has damaged the critical structure, it has seriously damaged the electricity production and the water supply. Thanks to the selfless work of the police, expert engineers, and workers, we have managed to repair the damage to some extent, although we are somewhat more than a quarter of the normal water flow through the Ibër-Lepenc canal, which also does the cooling of thermal power plants in Obiliç and the water supply of citizens of many municipalities, including a part of Pristina ", said Kurti.
