Renowned investigative journalist Domagoj Margeti? has submitted a detailed report to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Milan, providing information he considers important for the ongoing investigation in Italy into the so-called "human safaris" carried out during the siege of Sarajevo from 1992 to 1994.

According to media reports, Italian authorities are currently investigating allegations that wealthy and influential individuals from Italy and other countries around the world traveled to wartime Sarajevo to participate in the killing of civilians as a form of "sport hunting."

In his report, Margeti? asks investigators to examine the possible involvement of the current President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?.

Claims Presented in the Report

Margeti?'s report contains 19 points based on public statements, media interviews, archival materials and wartime testimony. The main allegations include:

- Aleksandar Vu?i? is suspected of having served as an armed volunteer in Sarajevo during 1992–1993.

- He is said to have been part of a paramilitary unit commanded by Slavko Aleksi?, stationed for months at the "Jewish Cemetery in Sarajevo", a position which, according to the report, is linked to the organization of alleged human safaris.

- The report cites statements from Vojislav Šešelj, Zoran Krasi?, Mirko Blagojevi? and others who have publicly claimed that Vu?i? served as a volunteer during that period.

- Margeti? also refers to a 1994 interview in which Vu?i? reportedly admitted to having spent "some time" at the Jewish Cemetery as a volunteer.

- He refers to an amateur video from 1993 that allegedly shows Vu?i? armed with a sniper rifle near the Jewish Cemetery.

- The report also includes allegations from former Bosniak officials and other individuals who, according to Margeti?, link Vu?i?'s presence to activities carried out on that front line.

Connection to the Italian Investigation

The investigation launched in Milan aims to clarify the role of Italian citizens suspected of participating in the deliberate targeting and killing of civilians during the siege of Sarajevo.

According to Margeti?, the positions held by Aleksi?'s unit - where Vu?i? allegedly served - coincide with the locations identified as the sites of these "human safaris".

The journalist further argues that Vu?i? and another member of the unit, Zlatko "Zak" Novakovi?, were among the few fighters who spoke foreign languages ??and therefore may have been in contact with foreign visitors to frontline positions.

Conclusion of the Report

Margeti? concludes that the information he has collected "clearly indicates", in his interpretation, that Vu?i? was present during the period and in the positions where the alleged human safaris took place and that, in his opinion, "it would have been impossible" for Vu?i? not to have been aware of such events.

He calls on the Milan Prosecutor's Office to include these charges in its ongoing investigation.
