130 delegations and over 200,000 citizens gathered today in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican to participate in the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis.

People praying, holding his photo in their hands, and unable to hold back their tears are participating in the farewell ceremony.

Some waited overnight to secure a spot for the ceremony.

Pope Francis, who refused to judge homosexuals or divorced Catholics, believed that the Church "is a home for everyone," Italian Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re said in his funeral homily.

He was guided by “the conviction that the Church is a home for all, a home with its doors always open … a Church capable of reaching out to every person, regardless of their beliefs or circumstances, and of healing their wounds,” he said.
