President Donald Trump expressed gratitude to Elon Musk for his work at the Department of Government Efficiency Ministry.
"Thank you, Elon, you're working hard. He didn't need this," Trump said.
"Thank you very much, we appreciate it. I believe this party appreciates it too, they just don't want to admit it," he added, as Musk greeted him.
Previously, Trump praised Elon Musk for his leadership in streamlining federal operations to reduce government costs.
"I signed an order creating a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). I'm not sure you've heard of it. Elon is doing a great job. We love Elon, don't we?" Trump said.
The president then listed various programs, particularly those related to foreign aid, that his administration has canceled for billions in fraud and waste.
"By cutting all the fraud, waste and theft we can find, we will beat inflation, lower mortgage rates, lower car payments and food prices, protect our seniors and put more money in the pockets of American families," Trump said.
DOGE claims on its website that it has saved $105 billion by shortening contracts and finding fraud.
DOGE, led by Elon Musk and created by Donald Trump, aims to significantly reduce federal government costs by cutting spending and jobs.
“People voted for major government reform and this is what people are going to get ,” Musk said. “This is what democracy is all about,” he added.
