Biden: I'm a Zionist! We will continue to help Israel defend itself from Hamas

"You don't have to be Jewish to be a Zionist, I am a Zionist," US President Joe Biden said at a White House reception on the occasion of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. 

"We continue to provide military aid to Israel to defend against Hamas, but we have to be careful, they have to be careful: public opinion can change from one day to the next," Biden said, reiterating that the U.S. will continue to work for "humanitarian aid".

He also condemned anti-Semitism and threats against Jews in the United States: "Whoever remains silent is an accomplice," he said, repeating that "in America there is no place for hatred of Jews or Muslims."
