Serbia armament, Osmani: Proof that does not want peace in the region

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said Serbia's leader, Aleksandar Vucic, is continuing with the presidency of former Yugoslavia's president, Slobodan Milosevic.

Commenting on Vucic's statements, which has criticised Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Curtis, and Montenegro's president, Millo Djukanovic, Kosovo's president, according to Radio Free Europe said she is not surprised by "the language of Milosevic's minister".

"Aleksandar Vucic has been propaganda minister during the wars in the former Yugoslavia, caused by his former chiefs, and unfortunately even now even in 2022 he is testifying to the same logic of the last century. He has not yet condemned any of the crimes of the Milosevic regime."

"Rather, it continues to glorify Milosevic and exonerates him for crimes committed in Kosovo. He has not yet put the perpetrators of numerous crimes and massacres to justice, including genocide against the innocent civilian population in the Republic of Kosovo," Osmani said during a media conference in Mitrovica on April 14th after meeting with the city's mayor, Bedri Hamza.

On 13 April, speaking of kurti and Djukanovic's statements, which have criticised Serbia for buying armaments from China, said:

"I would most willingly always be a lone wolf than a shameless and immoral hyena... It is even worse to be a fly that revolves around hyena and expects to behave a prey, such as Curtis and Djukanovic".

Curtis declared on 13 April that Serbia with the purchase of armaments is trying to strengthen itself, because according to him, "perhaps it can remain lonely".

Meanwhile, Djukanovic said Serbia is continuing to buy weapons from "visible enemies of Europe and NATO".

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said China's arming of Serbia, but also Russia in the last decade, indicates that Belgrade is "not interested in stability and peace" in the Western Balkan region.

"Serbia's armament is not happening only now. Now it has taken on disturbing proportions, but as you know, in relation to Russia and China, they are increasing their armament, at least in the last ten years, and this shows that Serbia is not interested in peace and stability in our region, but shows that it still wants to cause disstability, even influenced by Russia, whose satellite Serbia is," Osman said.

According to Kosovo's president, Serbia only declares it is for the European road, but according to her, this state is on the "path of [Russia's President Vladimir Putin"

In recent days, Chinese anti-aircraft systems, FK-3, have arrived in Serbia. Such systems are similar to the Russian S-300 system, or the American one, patriot.

Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic, has declared that the purchase of such systems is "legitimate, fully orderly and transparent".

Both Brussels and Washington have repeatedly expressed their concern about serbia's arms purchases in Russia and China, because Serbia, as a candidate country for EU membership, is expected to harmonize its foreign and security policy with the European bloc.

Likewise, the German government, following news of China's achievement of armament, called on Serbia to adapt foreign and security policy with the European Union.
