Amos Harel, Haaretz's defense analyst, stated that Hamas has been preparing for this campaign for months and has repeatedly asked Israel whether it should increase the number of Gazan workers allowed to work on the Green Line.

The Catastrophic Result -Fifty years and one day after the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War. This is a major concession shared by the entire political and security leadership, but these things will have to become clear only after the war.

The problem is that Israel is emerging from an unprecedented internal crisis in which extreme and insane government behavior dictated an agenda within which the state focused on all the wrong things, Harel writes.

According to him, this does not facilitate the professional ranks, but it will certainly make it difficult for the state to function in these difficult days.

"Hamas launched an effective surprise attack that completely caught Israeli intelligence organizations by surprise and completely overturned the concept of operational defense in the Gaza Strip. From our side, there is a high number of dead and wounded, which have not yet been ascertained. Gaza is also said to have brought a significant number of hijackers and troops there from Israel," the defense analyst writes.

Harel also notes that Hezbollah is now awaiting developments and considering its moves. It can be assumed that his secretary general, Hassan Nasrallah, is keeping his hand on the trigger, the analyst writes further.

He points out that the Israeli consortium in Gaza has collapsed – in politics, the deployment of defense forces and their preparedness for surprise, and of course in the complete absence of intelligence alert.

Hamas learned its lessons from a strong operation in 2014 and carried them out accordingly. In that campaign, although he tried to launch attacks from the tunnels, the organization failed in most attempts to penetrate the militants, and most of the attacks broke the IDF's defense forces. This time, the posts were attacked, with relatively low vigilance and limited forces, Harel explains.
