The senior officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards of Iran, Mohammed Akiki, was seriously injured today. According to foreign media, he fell prey to an attack in Tehran and is currently in hospital in critical condition after the serious injuries he received.

Initially, it was the Israeli writer Amir Tsarfati who wrote about the assassination of the senior official of the Iranian secret services on his Telegram channel, noting that Akiki is in intensive care at a hospital in Tehran. Then the news was also confirmed by the Bnn network, reports the Italian news agency lastampa.it.

At the moment there is a lack of information about the attack, but according to experts and analysts of events in Iran, it seems that the assassination is related to the explosive situation in the Middle East, after the aggression of Hamas against Israel and the reaction of the Jewish state. Even the Israeli writer Amir Tsarfati did not rule out the possibility of the involvement of the secret service, the Mossad, in this assassination.

This could be retaliation for Iran's role in the Hamas attack. Italian professor Daniele Ranieri wrote a few days ago that the attack by Hamas has disrupted the entire "status quo" in the Middle East. According to him, Izael's revenge will have consequences in Iran, but also in Lebanon due to the involvement of Hezbollah in this country, in the Assad regime in Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
