Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz attacked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with harsh language, describing the Turkish president as a "paper sultan" and calling on him to stop playing with Israel.
With his post on X, Katz responded to Erdogan's speech at the UN General Assembly, during which the Turkish president launched a new attack on Israel over the war in Gaza.
"Erdogan is a sultan of letters, strong in anti-Semitic and inflammatory speeches, but weak in action," the Israeli Defense Minister wrote.
The Turkish president had called on the international community to increase pressure on Israel over the war in Gaza, calling the Palestinian enclave "the most inhumane and shameful concentration camp of our time."
We recall that Turkey is also among the harshest critics of the Israeli military operation in Gaza.
Katz described the Turkish president's speech as anti-Semitic and inflammatory and accused him of "embracing and financing Hamas murderers and rapists."
"Erdogan is good at speeches and dreams of rebuilding the Ottoman Empire. But when it comes time for action, he proves to be a paper sultan," Katz said.
